About these notes

Old Pawn Notes is written by the team behind a small vintage shop in Japan. We handle vintage clothing, silver and turquoise every week, and these pages collect what we check before we trust a piece.

How we write

• We only describe what can be seen or checked: stamps, construction, wear and weight. When something is a guess, we say so.
• We only call a piece Native American made when a maker's mark, a signature or reliable documentation supports it. A seller's description alone is not enough.
• The photos are of pieces we have handled ourselves.
• We use AI tools to help draft and edit. Every fact is checked by a person who handles these pieces before it is published.

How the site is paid for

Some links go to shops such as Etsy, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them. It never changes what we write. Read the affiliate disclosure for details.
